Most of today’s diseases have more in common than most of us realize. A look at the tree of diseases makes it easy to understand. More details in this article.

Most of today’s diseases such as diabetes, asthma, cardiovascular diseases, arthritis, obesity, autoimmune diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, anxiety, depression and various forms of cancer have more in common than we think.
Inspired by the model of Frank Lipman, a functional physician, and taken up by Ronan Diego de Oliveira in the Holobody certification of Mindvalley that I am currently following, we can compare these diseases to the foliage of a tree.
The image of the tree
Its trunk would represent all the processes leading to them. They include oxidative stress and hormonal, neurotransmitter, mitochondrial, immune, digestive, detoxifying and musculoskeletal imbalances.
Roots represent common causes related to lifestyle imbalances.
They include our
- nutrition,
- recovery,
- beliefs,
- physical activity/exercise levels,
- environmental exposures (light, toxins and microbes),
- medications and drugs,
- relationships and
- genetics.
This latter explains why the same imbalances (can also add up to cause more deleterious effects) will lead to different illnesses in different individuals.
Our society is for the moment unfortunately more oriented towards a disease-care system (junk food and pollution –> diseases –> pill medicine) than towards a health system (prevention as we find it more in the East). It is therefore up to each one of us to make his choice. Rather to decide or not to prioritize his lifestyle to live better, more fulfilled and more in harmony with our fellow men.
